Billy Elliot New faces join the cast!

New faces join the cast!

Following our 8th birthday bash this weekend, today we welcome some brand new cast members to the show. Ali Rasul from Hartlepool will make his debut performance as Billy tonight, 13th May.  Ali joins the cast along with Anna-Jane Casey as Mrs Wilkinson, Kevin Wathern as Billy’s brother Tony, Howard Crossley as George, and Alexander Loxton who has taken on the role of Older Billy. After months of rehearsals, the new cast are now ready to take the Victoria Palace Theatre by storm – and we can’t wait to see them!

Ali Rasul said:“ I was so surprised and excited to have been cast and I just can’t wait until my first performance on stage.”

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

Roald Dahl’s deliciously dark tale of young Charlie Bucket and the mysterious confectioner Willy Wonka comes to life in a brand new West End musical directed by Academy Award winner Sam Mendes.

Featuring ingenious stagecraft, the wonder of the original story that has captivated the world for almost 50 years is brought to life with music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman (Grammy winners for Hairspray; Smash), a book by award-winning playwright and adaptor David Greig (The Bacchae; Tintin In Tibet), set and costume designs by Mark Thompson (Mamma Mia!; One Man, Two Guvnors) and choreography by Peter Darling (Billy Elliot The Musical; Matilda The Musical).

Douglas Hodge stars as Willy Wonka with Nigel Planer as Grandpa Joe, Clive Carter as Mr Salt, Jasna Ivir as Mrs Gloop, Paul J Medford as Mr Beauregarde, Iris Roberts as Mrs Teavee and Myra Sands as Grandma Georgina.

This world premiere musical is produced by Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Neal Street Productions and Kevin McCormick.
